There are movies which ask for a certain distance between the first time you watch them and the second one. It's not a matter of a raised impact when you watch them for the second time, it's just a problem of looking into details, finding yourself again, taking an imagination bath in the clean waters of not expecting to see what happens anymore cause you already know it.
I might seem too vague in explanations. Actually I am talking about the well-known problem of the reading and re-reading in a conscious manner.
Amelie was such a movie. Took me a while to get back to it. Something was there always whispering the need of a postponing action, although the calling was never dead.It was a sweet echo, the type of echo that says:"well, there are some good movies on my list. Amelie is one of them. Maybe I should see it again and check if it is disappointing me this time"..You need a time of postponing like in the case of a tasty cake. the last bites are vital somewhat, reducing the whole act to its essence.
But last night the echo was stronger than never. It might have been because the night was silent, calming down its wounds after a hot day, an unbreathable day. It's that state when you almost doze off in the sweet air around you, feeling impossible lazy. It's the time when whims appear.
Amelie was my choice for a visual spoiling of the senses. I've only seen 2 movies until now that gave me the impression that they were conceived by the eager eye and the melting heart of a photographer: Amelie and Azul oscuro casi negro (2006)
the need of hanging onto things like you are embracing that chair in the corner that makes such a beautiful contrast with the dark green leading the eye to the curtain that hides the almost seen shadows. It's an invitation to a stroll around and on the surface of everything that surrounds you...Rainer Maria Rilke said that everything is a surface and the forehead of a man is like a sculpted surface and so are the dancing leaves in the trees and every bit of emotion.
walk with me in the clouds, on the yellowish roofs that offer one perfect panorama, reminding you of Aristocats, moving your hands slowly in the air like you are in front of an invisible orchestra of inter-connected things...because yes, in the movie they want to reveal the fact that surprises do appear in life and you never know who will make you happy.
Well, i did write quite a lot today.Didn't planned to...I must have a wondering expression as the below one seeing this..
