Turkish summer

First the photos:

then the impressions:

I got back happy, serene, in peace with myself, optimist but very very tired. As we traveled by bus it took us a day and a half to get there. Sleeping in a bus is not the best thing one could imagine. My back was in pain at the beginning but somehow, miraculously got better as the hours vanished. Riding a bus can be boring as well especially when you cross a country (Bulgaria) at night time. Nothing to be seen there. Once we arrived in Istanbul everything changed. The streets were overcrowded, people were shouting and trying to get you buy something ( I mean those people sell everything in such a dynamic rhythm that it made me dizzy at first). But once you get accustomed to the new atmosphere you see the certain charm of streets and people and things. Of course I bought things. A silver bracelet and a pair of silver earrings. Lokum. Bookmarks and fridge magnets for the dear ones. A super expensive ice-cream. But we had lots of fun. Walked and walked all day long in the scorching sun. Wore a hat as you can see above. You can't do without. Met Ozgur. Had dinner near the Marmara sea. Fish first then amazing Turkish desert. Almost got lost in the metro station alone. Trusted a man that spoke Turkish only to show me the way. Traveled with him in late midnight wondering if I will end up dead or burgled. Found out that God protected me and the man was a wonderful person who although did not know me took care of me and never left my side until I got to my friend's house. Saw the Grand Bazaar. The Vlacherne Church and the Blue Mosque. Suleiman's Mosque. Heard the prayer and felt the emotion behind it. Listened to Turkish music.Eat Iskender Kebab at Cemberlistas Saray Restaurant. Found out it was recommended on Trip Adviser. Wondered how come people were walking till late hours of the nights, had midnight picnics . Saw many women fully covered living peacefully with modern ones.Bought rose water. And rose hand cream. Enjoyed every minute spent there.
